Marrakech : the must-see sites to visit and do ?

Discover the Palm grove 

Spread over an area of more than fifteen thousand hectares with more than one hundred thousand trees, the palm grove of Marrakech is one of the city’s main tourist attractions. Visit the Medina and the souks

It is the historic heart of the city. If you are passionate about oriental architecture, especially Moroccan architecture, you will enjoy visiting Marrakech, more precisely walking around the Medina. More than a thousand years old, this small city surrounded by 18 km of walls is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once inside, you can discover the Riads, the traditional houses typical of the region, but also several monuments and especially its famous Djema el Fna square. And if you would like to offer yourself a little souvenir of your stay in Marrakech, make a detour to the souks, these shops of Moroccan craftsmen. The city has 17 of them for 700 Riad. You can buy spices of all kinds, leather bags and many other souvenirs.

The place of Djemaa el Fna

Symbol of Marrakech, Djemaa el Fna Square is located in the heart of the Medina. Tour around the square are concentrated what the city has to offer you in terms of gastronomy, music, but also art. It is the main meeting point in the city, both for the inhabitants of Marrakech and for tourists. Indeed, as soon as night falls, several shows are set up around the square, including snake charmers, fire-eaters, etc.

The Koutoubia Mosque

It is certainly one of the most beautiful religious buildings in Marrakech. With its 70 meters of minaret, the Koutoubia mosque is also a good landmark in the city to find your way back to the Medina. At nightfall, it is adorned with beautiful lights, a sight you should not miss during your stay in Marrakech.

The Majorelle Garden

It is one of the tourist sites that you should not miss under any circumstances when you go to visit Marrakech. This garden is named after its creator, the painter Jacques Majorelle. The garden was later bought by the fashion designer Yves St Laurent before being opened to the general public.
